Wedding gown or wedding dress, champagne silk satin, dolman elbow length sleeves, blouson bodice front with triangular lace applique at center front edged with pearls, wide satin cumberbund that swags over the hips, large satin front bow, satin center front panel that overlays the lace underskirt and extends to the sides and connects to the train, train connected to dress at center back shoulder area, hook & eye back closures; circa. 1913. Her grandmother's wedding dress is Object ID 1976.158.001. |

This gown to be used in the wedding dress exhibit. Note inside dress: "Wedding dress of Gertrude I. Pierce, married Arthur Stanley Bolster, Sr., October 29, 1913. The rose point lace was on the wedding dress of her grandmother, Martha Jane Cross who married James L. Pierce, October 8, 1851." |
